ChainThink news, August 20, according to the Wall Street Journal, Trump may have attempted to remove Federal Reserve Board member Cook, who is accused of mortgage fraud.

Earlier tonight, U.S. Department of Justice officials stated that they have received referrals related to Federal Reserve Board member Cook and are taking them very seriously. Bill Poole, the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and a staunch ally of Trump, wrote a letter to Department of Justice officials suggesting that Federal Reserve Board member Cook may have committed criminal offenses. According to a copy of the letter disclosed by Bloomberg, the letter accuses Cook of "falsifying bank documents and property records to obtain more favorable loan terms, which may constitute mortgage fraud under criminal law."
