ChainThink report, October 10, according to the New York Times, a U.S. government source said that despite the federal government shutdown, the Bureau of Labor Statistics is still preparing to release the CPI data for September, but the exact release time is unclear, but it is almost certain not to be the originally scheduled October 15. The statistical agency has suspended all operations during the funding interruption, and therefore failed to release the non-farm payroll report as planned last week.

According to government sources, the bureau has started recalling some employees to return to work to complete the report preparation. This decision to release the data seems to be related to the annual cost-of-living adjustment procedure for social security. This adjustment is based on inflation data from the third quarter, so the delayed release of September price data may cause the publication of the cost-of-living adjustment to be postponed. According to other foreign media reports, the Bureau of Labor Statistics plans to release the September CPI data by the end of the month.
