ChainThink report: On December 15, Base co-founder Jesse faced intense community backlash for promoting and funding a RUG token for the notoriously problematic Soulja Boy on social platforms yesterday. ZachXBT questioned, "Why provide a platform for SouljaBoy to scam new users?"

ZachXBT had previously disclosed in April 2023 that "Soulja Boy is one of the most brazen promoters in the crypto space. In my research, I found he has participated in 73 promotions and launched 16 NFT projects, a significant portion of which were scams."

Jesse himself has also promoted multiple MEME tokens, such as the "Base is for everyone" incident (a token that surged to a market cap of $20 million before crashing 90% within hours) and his personal token jesse (widely referred to by the community as the worst fair-launch token in Base's history). Tokens promoted by Jesse typically generate short-term speculative hype but exhibit unstable long-term performance and poor investment returns.
