According to The Fintech Times, Aishwary Gupta, Global Head of Payments and Real-World Assets at Polygon, forecasts that stablecoins are entering a "super cycle." Amid ongoing evolution in the global financial landscape, the number of global stablecoin issuers could surpass 100,000 within the next five years. He notes this trend will exert pressure on traditional financial institutions, compelling banks to re-evaluate their capital management strategies, or risk being marginalized by the market. (Note: A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency pegged to the value of a fiat currency or other assets, designed to maintain price stability, commonly used for trading and cross-border payments.)
