ChainThink report, on September 30, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a surprise raid on the Lonestar Dream Bitcoin mining facility located in Pyote, Texas. Witnesses at the scene reported that multiple government officials were present, including agents from ICE, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Law enforcement officials took 12 to 13 employees from the site after they failed to present valid identification, including several foreign citizens whose visas had expired.

Pyote and western Texas are generally a hub for Bitcoin miners. At the end of 2024, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began sporadically seizing and confiscating ASIC mining machines imported through border checkpoints. In some cases, CBP detained the hardware for months, charging affected companies storage fees, without clearly explaining the reasons for marking and detaining the ASICs. CBP continued to detain certain shipments after Trump's inauguration, releasing the detained hardware only toward the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter of 2025.
