ChainThink reports: According to sources, Tesla (TSLA.O) is dissolving its Dojo supercomputer team, with the project leader Peter Bannon leaving, and Musk has ordered the termination of this development plan. This means that Tesla's significant efforts in developing self-designed autonomous driving chips have come to an end. According to sources, about 20 members of the team have recently joined the newly established DensityAI company, while the remaining members will be reassigned to other data centers and computing-related projects. It is reported that Tesla plans to rely more on external technology partners in the future, including computing power provided by NVIDIA and AMD, as well as chip manufacturing services provided by Samsung Foundry. The Dojo project has been in preparation for many years and was once seen as the core of Tesla's billions of dollars AI strategy. Dojo is a supercomputing system designed by Tesla itself, used to train machine learning models that support its autonomous driving and FSD, as well as the Optimus robot.
